The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Deck-Building Game – Arwen Promos

About this expansion

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Deck-Building Game – Arwen Promos is a set of two extra cards for 2–5 players, with a playing time of about 30 minutes. Released in 2013, this promotional set was given out by participating board game stores.

The set introduces Arwen as another playable hero, bringing the total number of heroes available to eight. Her card identifies her as an Elven Hero and changes the contents of the starting deck for the player who selects her.

• Arwen: A playable hero with the ability, “You start the game with ‘Ride like the Wind’ in your deck.”
• Ride like the Wind: A Maneuver card that provides +1 Power and can defend against an Attack or Ambush.

“Ride like the Wind” is the tenth card in the starter deck of the player using Arwen. Its Defense ability allows that player to discard the card to avoid an Attack or Ambush; if they do, they draw two cards.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring Deck-Building Game – Arwen Promos is therefore a focused two-card addition centered on one hero and her accompanying starter-deck card. It offers a distinct way to begin the game while keeping the promo’s contents easy to identify: one playable hero and one card designed specifically for that hero.
