About this expansion

The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire – Missile Crisis is a promotional card for The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire, associated with 2–5 players and a 120-minute play time, and released in 2016.

Originally unlocked as a stretch reward for Kickstarter backers, Missile Crisis was later included in a pack of promotional items for backers of the Game Boy Geek 2017 Kickstarter campaign. Its effect introduces a sharp change to scoring and progression.

When this card is resolved, the environmental row is not scored. Instead, every player immediately scores 1 victory point for each space their United Nations marker has moved.

  • No environmental row is scored.
  • Each player scores 1 VP per space moved by their United Nations marker.
  • All three structure markets are refreshed.
  • Players may not advance further on the United Nations track until the next Global Impact card is triggered.

The temporary restriction on the United Nations track remains in effect until the next Global Impact card is triggered. This gives the card a clearly defined duration while its immediate scoring effect rewards the progress already made on the track.

As a promotional addition, The Manhattan Project: Energy Empire – Missile Crisis provides a specific rules event centered on the United Nations track, environmental scoring, and the structure markets. Its compact effect makes it easy to identify at the table while creating a distinct interruption to normal progression.
