About this expansion

Tiny Trees is a micro-expansion for Tiny Towns, supporting 1–6 players with a play time of 45 minutes. Released in 2020, it adds a small but meaningful decision about how to use the spaces on your town board.

At the start of the game, each mayor places a seed on one space of their board. This marked space creates an opportunity during construction: whenever you build on it, you gain a free resource of your choice.

However, the seed can offer an even more valuable reward if you plan carefully. If you finish the game with only the seed remaining and no other empty spaces, it grows into a 2-point tree.

  • Place one seed on your board at the start of the game.
  • Build on the seed’s space to gain a free resource of your choice.
  • Fill every other empty space and let the seed grow into a 2-point tree.

Tiny Trees makes empty spaces matter throughout the game. You can use the seed as a source of flexibility when you need a particular resource, or preserve it while completing the rest of your town in pursuit of the end-game tree.

As a compact addition to Tiny Towns, this micro-expansion introduces a simple choice with two distinct outcomes: immediate resource support or a potential scoring reward. Tiny Trees gives each town a chance to watch a tree grow while making the final arrangement of its board more important.
