Underwater Cities: Biodome Promo is a 2018 promotional addition for 1–4 players, with a listed play time of 150 minutes. It introduces one special card and a green plastic dome token for use with Underwater Cities.

The promo centers on a race to expand your network. The first player to have three cities connected to their network activates the Biodome card and replaces their starting city with the green biodome.

The biodome is a nonsymbiotic city, giving it a distinctive production rule. Unlike a symbiotic city, it requires no kelp at the end of production.

Underwater Cities: Biodome Promo was given out at Essen SPIEL 2018 and was also included in some versions of the base game. Its compact content adds a clearly defined race objective and a distinctive city replacement to the underwater development experience.

When the condition on the card is met, the green biodome marks the change from the starting city to this special nonsymbiotic city. The promo therefore offers a memorable component and a precise rules twist while remaining focused on a single card effect.
