About this board game

Valletta is a 2017 board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 80 minutes. Inspired by Jean Parisot de Valette, players work to create their own version of Malta’s future capital.

Procure the raw materials needed for construction, then hire merchants, bricklayers, and roofers to support your plans. As your city takes shape, build mighty bastions, baroque buildings, and a distinctive right-angled street network.

Your work is supervised by Jean Parisot de Valette himself, who patrols the streets as a building inspector. His progress provides a clear sense of time: when he reaches the end of his patrol, the game ends and a winner is determined.

With its historical setting and focus on construction, reputation, and carefully developing a new capital, Valletta brings the founding of the city to the tabletop. Every player draws inspiration from de Valette while shaping a personal vision of the magnificent capital.
