About this board game

Video Vortex is a competitive deck-building game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Set on a radioactive future Earth inhabited by video-obsessed mutants, it casts each player as a genre-worshiping character competing to seize control of the wasteland.

Every character has individual mutant powers to employ while battling opponents and navigating the effects of the game. On your turn, spend energy to play special cards, strengthen your deck with rentals from the local video store, and eject chosen cards from play to weaken your foes.

Health is represented by Runtime, a limited resource that is unique to each character. Use Lo-Fi and Hi-Fi attacks to advance an opponent’s runtime beyond their limit. When you conquer a rival in this way, you collect a Be Kind token as a trophy.

Collect three distinctive Be Kind trophies and victory is declared by the reigning champion. Released in 2020, Video Vortex combines a colorful mutant wasteland setting with direct competition and a clear trophy-driven objective.
