About this board game
Vikingar: The Conquest of Worlds is a Viking adventure game for 2 to 6 players, with an approximate play time of 120 minutes. Released in 2017, it challenges players to explore an unknown world and accomplish the glorious deeds needed to gain entrance to Valhalla.
The game takes place on a round modular board made up of 24 tiles. These tiles remain face down until a player chooses to explore them, gradually revealing the world and the adventures waiting beyond the known lands.
Each player uses a drakkard to travel through this world and pursue the achievements required for the final transition to Valhalla. Along the way, players may encounter several characteristic Viking pursuits:
- Plundering holy places
- Fighting mythical creatures
- Trading with cities
Valhalla lies at the end of the game board, or at the point where the land gives way. Reaching it is not without danger: players must be careful not to fall into the void while progressing through the world.
Fights and other confrontations are resolved using runes thrown into the board’s central area, known as the high sea. This system applies to events, looting, and battles between players. The positions of the runes in the high sea influence the outcome, giving each conflict a distinctive resolution.
With its face-down exploration tiles, drakkards, mythical encounters, trading, looting, and rune-based conflicts, Vikingar: The Conquest of Worlds presents a broad Viking journey focused on discovery and the deeds that lead to Valhalla.
