About this board game
Wallenstein Big Box is a board game for 3–5 players, played in about 120 minutes, set during the Thirty Years’ War. Military leaders compete for dominance while building palaces and churches across the country.
Players collect victory points by controlling countries and developing them, but the peasants must not be forgotten. The game combines territorial control and development with a distinctive battle system centered on its dice tower.
Rather than simply randomizing the result, the tower keeps some of the cubes that enter it. The winner of each battle is determined by the number of the attacker’s and defender’s armies that emerge, creating a result shaped by both the forces committed and what returns from the tower.
This 2016 big-box edition brings the core game together with four expansion modules, offering a complete Wallenstein collection in one box:
