War Chest

About this board game

War Chest is a bag-building war game for 2–4 players that plays in about 30 minutes. Players assemble varied armies, use their units on the battlefield, and compete to capture key points on the board.

At the start of the game, each player drafts several different units into their army. These military units are represented by coins, which are placed in a bag and drawn throughout the game. Managing the forces in your bag is just as important as managing the armies already waiting to be deployed.

Each round, players draw three unit coins from their bag. Taking turns, they use those coins to perform actions. Every coin shows a military unit on one side and can be used for one of several actions, giving each draw a meaningful role in the unfolding battle.

• Draft several different units into your army.
• Draw three unit coins from your bag each round.
• Use the coins to perform actions and manage your deployed and undeployed forces.
• Capture key points and place your control markers on the board.

The game ends when one player has placed all of their control markers. In a four-player game, players can compete as teams, and the team that places all of its control markers wins.

Build your army carefully, deploy its strength effectively, and work toward completing your control-marker objective.
