About this board game

Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress is an exploration and combat game for 1–5 players, with games lasting around 180 minutes. Players take on the roles of disparate explorers venturing into a vast, ancient space station in search of powerful archeotech and long-lost technology.

Each expedition takes the group into the labyrinthine halls of the Blackstone Fortress. Players must work together and balance their explorers’ strength and skills to survive encounters with hostile forces, including Chaos Space Marines, Chaos Beastmen, Ur-Ghuls, Negavolt Cultists, Rogue Psykers, Spindle Drones, and Traitor Guardsmen.

The game can be played solo or with up to four friends, while a fifth player controls the hostiles. Over the course of their expeditions, the explorers learn more about the Fortress and its closely guarded secrets, perhaps discovering the location of its greatest treasure.

Between expeditions, the explorers return to the nearby port city of Precipice. There they can rest, recuperate, and trade their loot for resources to aid their next adventure. Stasis Chambers provide safe places for characters to rest between explorations.

The box includes 44 push-fit Citadel miniatures: nine explorers and 35 hostiles. It also contains the rules, combat, Precipice, background, and Warhammer 40,000 datasheet booklets, along with the components needed to build and play each expedition.
