About this board game

Warhammer Underworlds: Two-Player Starter Set is a two-player miniatures game for battles lasting around 30 minutes, offering a compact introduction to the core gameplay of Warhammer Underworlds.

This streamlined starter set focuses on the gameplay of Warhammer Underworlds: Shadespire. It leaves out spellcasting from Nightvault, hunter and quarry mechanics from Beastgrave, and hunger and primacy from Direchasm, making the experience easier for new players to learn.

The included 36-page rulebook is designed to be fast and easy to understand while using terminology from later Warhammer Underworlds seasons. Two double-sided game boards provide maps previously released for Shadespire, while the included tokens and eight black-and-white combat dice supply the essentials for play.

  • Drepur’s Wraithcreepers: four glaivewraith miniatures with their associated fighter cards
  • Storm of Celestus: three Stormcast Castigators and their gryph-hound
  • Two pre-made, faction-exclusive decks of 32 upgrade, ploy, and objective cards
  • Push-fit miniatures designed for easy assembly
  • Two double-sided game boards, tokens, fighter cards, and combat dice

Each warband is ready to use with its own pre-made deck, allowing players to begin exploring the game without assembling a collection of universal cards. The cards feature a stylistic redesign while retaining the same backs and functionality as earlier Warhammer Underworlds releases; this set contains no universal cards.

Both included warbands are new to the system and can also be used in other games of Warhammer Underworlds. With accessible rules, familiar Shadespire maps, and two opposing forces, Warhammer Underworlds: Two-Player Starter Set provides a focused starting point for players discovering the game.
