About this board game

Wiraqocha is a board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. Set in an alternate early twentieth century, it places players in the lost Wiraqocha Valley, a remote Eden discovered in Amazonia in 1895.

The valley contains Somnium, an orange, luminescent crystal with extraordinary properties. It can be used as fuel, affects matter, and even influences time. Empress Victoria II sends European conglomerates into this new Eldorado aboard zeppelins filled with scientists, adventurers, and looters.

The adjustable game board is built from 22 hexagonal tiles. Each tile is identified by a number from 1 to 12 or by a dice combination, such as a pair or a straight. On a turn, players roll six-sided dice and combine their results to take possession of territories or protect territories they already own.

  • Adjustable board: Explore a valley formed from 22 hexagonal tiles.
  • Dice-driven territory control: Combine rolled dice to claim or defend hexes.
  • Special abilities and resources: Use what each territory provides to influence dice results and support your plans.
  • Three victory routes: Pursue Somnium, scientific knowledge, or ancient relics.

Victory can come in three distinct ways. Bring a huge cargo of Somnium back to the Empress, acquire enough scientific knowledge to build the Leviathan—a terrifying weapon for the Kingdom—or discover the four relics hidden in the temple depths and reach Wiraqocha’s treasure.

With its combination of adjustable terrain, dice manipulation, territory possession, and competing objectives, Wiraqocha presents a race for control of a mysterious valley where science, conquest, and discovery point toward different ways to win.
