About this expansion

Wondrous Creatures: Winterfall is a board game expansion for 1–4 players with an approximately 90-minute play time. Set five years after the events of the base game, it follows Captain Freya as she grows into a capable young leader.

On Starbeak Island, a long and harsh winter transforms the main board. Blizzards, auroras, and other shifting weather phenomena alter the spaces where players place their workers, creating a dynamic new twist on worker placement.

Some weather-affected spaces grant powerful effects, while others may disrupt Habitats. As conditions change across the island, the board presents new opportunities and complications to consider during play.

Winterfall also introduces the mysterious Spirits, a new species that appears during the winter. Spirits interact uniquely with weather effects, adding another distinctive element to the expansion’s changing environment.
