About this board game
Würfel Bohnanza is a dice game for 2–5 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. Roll bean dice, fulfill increasingly demanding orders, and collect Bohnentalers—the first player to reach thirteen wins.
Each player starts with two order cards. One card records the orders being completed, while the other covers completed orders. Orders must be fulfilled from the bottom upward: simpler requirements appear at the bottom, while harder challenges such as four-of-a-kind or seven beans with no blue ones wait at the top.
- Roll seven bean dice, setting aside at least one bean before rerolling the rest.
- Continue for up to seven rolls, setting aside at least one die each time.
- Use the dice as needed after rolling to complete as many available orders as possible.
- Let opponents use the dice from each roll to work on their own orders.
The seven dice are not identical: three show one combination of beans, while four show another. After each roll, opponents may use the dice just rolled—but not dice already set aside—to complete orders on their own cards. This gives the active player a reason not to spend too long pursuing a result that benefits everyone else more than it helps them.
Once a player completes three orders, they may harvest the order card for one Bohnentaler. Each additional completed order is worth another coin, up to a maximum of four. After harvesting, the player draws a new order card and can use it to record further completed orders, potentially during the same turn.
With its shared-roll opportunities and escalating order requirements, Würfel Bohnanza turns the familiar bean theme into a competitive dice challenge.
