About this board game

Zaibatsu is a cyberpunk print-and-play board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting around 120 minutes. Players take the roles of rival supercorporations competing to control Cybernet, a global network of information.

Each player commands agents, mercenaries, and other pawns to pursue their goals across a modular board. During the game, pawns can move and attack opposing pawns, while players also work to expand the board or take control of existing hexagonal blocks.

  • Modular board: Add new hexagonal blocks and create varied layouts from game to game.
  • Multiple pawns: Control several pawns at once, each with its own special abilities and restrictions.
  • Cards and dice: Choose from different actions while dice introduce randomness and uncertainty.
  • Board control: Compete for control counters and dominance over Cybernet.

Turns alternate as the supercorporations move their forces, confront rival pawns, and seek opportunities to influence the network. The combination of cards, dice, tactical pawn control, and a changing board gives Zaibatsu a variety of ways to approach the struggle.

The game ends when one player obtains the required number of control counters over the board. With its cyberpunk setting, print-and-play format, and modular structure, Zaibatsu presents a direct contest for influence between competing corporate powers.
