About this board game

Zopp is a soccer-style flicking game for 2 or 4 players, with a playing time of around 40 minutes. Released in 1997, it recreates the basic idea of soccer using stones, alternating attempts, and goals.

In a singles game, each player controls three stones representing their players. The two sides are distinguished by black and white stones, while a smaller red stone represents the ball. In a doubles game, four players take part using the same player-and-ball setup.

Players move the game forward by flicking their own stones across the surface. Attempts can be made with the Zopp-stick or with fingers, giving each turn a direct physical element. The objective is to knock the red ball into a goal.

  • Players: 2 or 4
  • Play time: about 40 minutes
  • Player stones: three per player, in black or white
  • Ball: a smaller red stone
  • Victory: the side with the most goals wins

Each side alternates attempts to send the ball toward the opposing goal by flicking its own player stones. The rules roughly correspond to soccer, but the action is expressed through the positioning and movement of physical stones on the surface.

With its simple goal-scoring objective and tactile flicking mechanism, Zopp offers a focused contest for either two individual players or four players competing in doubles. Every attempt contributes to the final score, and the winner is the side that finishes with the most goals.
