About this board game
Claustrophobia is a two-player miniatures-based survival game that plays in about 45 minutes, set within the universe of Hell Dorado. One player commands a small group of determined humans, while the other controls an almost unending army of demonic creatures.
The game is highly asymmetric: human characters are stronger, but demon characters are more numerous. Across a selection of scenarios, the humans may need to escape the catacombs or close a portal, while the demons work to stop them. Each scenario provides its own objectives and varying win conditions.
Large tiles represent the dungeon spaces where the pre-painted miniatures are placed. Character boards, counters, markers, and dice support the struggle, while cards and special abilities give players additional options during play.
- Dice allocation: Roll dice and assign them to perform actions.
- Combat: Resolve battles with dice.
- Scenario play: Pursue different objectives and win conditions.
- Asymmetric forces: Stronger human characters face overwhelming demonic numbers.
With straightforward gameplay and a minimum of rules, Claustrophobia focuses on managing limited resources, responding to difficult events, and out-thinking an opponent. Every decision matters as players choose how best to use the results of their dice, available abilities, and other resources.
Designed with low complexity and a strong thematic focus, Claustrophobia builds toward a tense, climactic ending. Its scenario-driven structure offers a range of challenges within a compact game that takes an hour or less to play.
