About this board game
The Phantom League is a card-driven space game for 2–6 players, with each session taking about 90 minutes. You take the role of a merchant spaceship captain, beginning as an unknown figure and pursuing fame, glory, or notoriety across the known universe.
Build your career through a broad range of possible actions. Trade for success, turn to piracy, explore new systems, or eliminate rivals belonging to other Leagues—powerful phantom alliances capable of challenging law and political order.
The modular board ensures that every game is different, while the card-driven system puts your choices in control rather than leaving outcomes to dice. With many available paths and strategies, Phantom League offers no single best way to pursue victory.
Interaction between players can be cooperative or competitive. Choose when to ally with others and when to conspire against them as you decide how far to trust your fellow captains. The result is a game shaped by changing relationships as well as by your own ambitions.
- Modular board: Every game creates a different playing environment.
- Card-driven gameplay: Your decisions, rather than dice, guide your actions.
- Multiple strategies: Trade, piracy, exploration, and rivalry all offer routes to recognition.
- Flexible interaction: Cooperate with other players or plot against them.
Designed for players aged 12 and up, The Phantom League is inspired by David Braben’s video game Elite.
