About this board game

Taskmaster: The Board Game is a 2018 competitive game for 3–99 players, designed to be played in about 45 minutes. Based on the UK television show on Dave, it turns players into both challengers and the all-important Taskmaster.

Players alternate taking the role of Taskmaster while everyone else attempts a zany, time-limited task. The Taskmaster reads the challenge and scores each attempt, so success depends on winning approval as well as completing the task.

Tasks are provided on cards linked to different rooms shown on the board, which presents a plan view of the Taskmaster house. The themed challenges cover four locations:

• The lab
• The living room
• The kitchen
• The garden

Players use items from those rooms in their own venue as they work through the challenges. This gives each round a clear setting while leaving the contestants to carry out the task in their own way.

The play session also includes an additional secret task, giving players another objective to complete. For the final round, a video from Alex takes on the Taskmaster role and presents the last task.

After the final task has been completed and scored, the player with the highest score is declared the winner. With rotating roles, timed challenges, themed rooms, secret objectives, and a video-led finale, Taskmaster: The Board Game brings the show’s distinctive task-and-judging format to the tabletop.
