Haunted Lands

About this board game

Haunted Lands is a competitive Euro-game for 2–4 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes. As a Perceiver, you explore new lands, gather resources, develop your community, and seek the most Valor.

Your ancestors crossed great distances to find a place to start over. Now, the future of Kalena rests with those who can see beyond the veil of reality and communicate with the Specters haunting these lands.

Play takes place over three seasons, each divided into three rounds. Every round gives each player one turn, creating a structured race to make the most of your available opportunities and Action Tokens.

• Move across tiles to explore and gather resources.
• Build structures to help develop your community.
• Chase away Specters that frighten explorers and make buildings unusable.
• Return to Kalena to sell goods, learn new skills, and train.

Training can increase the number of Action Tokens at your disposal, while goods can be exchanged for Pecunia in the city. Choosing when to explore, build, confront restless spirits, or return to Kalena is central to your progress.

Kalena’s high walls may withstand ordinary attacks, but man-made barriers cannot stop the Specters. In Haunted Lands, only the Perceivers can communicate with these spirits and attempt to drive them away.

With beautiful illustrations and striking meeples, the game combines resource gathering, construction, skills, and supernatural encounters. When the third season ends, the Perceiver with the most Valor becomes a hero of Kalena.
