About this board game
Takenokolor is a garden-development game for 2–4 players, played in about 30 minutes. Step into the role of a gardener and work to transform your sheet into a colorful bamboo grove, complete with watering places, fish, and ladybugs.
At the start of each turn, one player throws four pencils: green, yellow, pink, and blue. That player chooses one pencil first, while the other players select one of the remaining pencils in turn.
Once everyone has chosen, all players color simultaneously. Each player shades one bamboo section on their sheet that matches both the chosen pencil’s color and the symbol shown on its ring: a circle, square, or triangle.
- Develop your bamboo grove with colorful sections.
- Choose from four pencil colors: green, yellow, pink, and blue.
- Match each choice to a circle, square, or triangle symbol.
- Create watering places and attract fish and ladybugs.
The shared selection process gives every turn a simple but meaningful decision. Taking a preferred pencil may leave different options for the other gardeners, so the order of choosing matters as you build your personal paradise.
In Takenokolor, everyone colors at the same time, keeping the game moving while each player develops their own grove. Who will finish their bamboo grove first, and who will prove to be the best gardener?
With its bright colors, simultaneous play, and approachable garden theme, Takenokolor offers a compact challenge for families and groups looking for a creative game of choices and pattern matching.
