About this board game

Kaiju Crush is a light strategy game for 2–4 players that plays in about 45 minutes. On a modular grid, players control giant monsters that crush buildings, claim territory, and battle for victory points.

Each player chooses one of four kaiju. On a turn, they play either their own movement card or the shared movement card, then land on and crush a city tile. The player takes that tile and replaces it with a territory marker, gradually changing control of the city.

City tiles provide different amounts of points, while territory markers can score through shared objective cards. These objectives may reward connected or unconnected markers, groups of claimed city tiles, or shapes formed on the grid.

  • Limited grid movement creates meaningful positioning decisions.
  • Shared objectives make territory valuable in different ways from game to game.
  • Intransitive combat pits five attack symbols against one another: firebreath, claw, tail, kick, and spikes.

Points can also come from fighting a monster on an adjacent space or one occupying a territory marker. To fight, players draw five territory markers and check their reverse sides. The winner receives a random combat victory token worth 1–3 points, while a winner in a territory battle also replaces the existing marker with their own.

Every monster has a unique fighting ability, and special abilities change every game. When no monster can move, the game ends. The player with the most victory points becomes supreme in Kaiju Crush.
