About this board game

Lakshadweep is a two-player tile-laying game played in about 45 minutes, inviting players to build the exotic islands of Lakshadweep together, one tile at a time.

Players take turns selecting tiles from a market display and adding them to a shared, central map. Each tile combines island and water bodies with natural features and man-made features in both player colors, creating a developing landscape filled with Houses, Fisheries, Hotels, Ports, Forests, and Corals.

Every feature has its own way of earning points based on where it is placed. This gives the shared map an important role: both players contribute to the same islands and water bodies while building their own colored features and working to improve their score.

  • Select tiles from the market display.
  • Add tiles to the shared central map.
  • Place and score natural and man-made features.
  • Trigger bonuses by adding more Forests or completing an island.

Adding more Forests and completing an island can trigger bonuses, allowing a player to pick bonus tokens and improve their score. However, the supply is limited, and every bonus token is unique, making these opportunities especially important as the map develops.

The game ends when the last tile has been placed. After all features have been scored according to their individual placement rules, the player with the highest score wins. With its shared map, varied features, and limited bonuses, Lakshadweep presents a focused contest for two players.
