About this board game
Rabbit Island: Explore, Build, Conquer is a competitive tile-laying strategy game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Lead a tribe of rabbits across an uninhabited island as you explore new lands, establish territories, and compete to build the most successful civilization.
The game centers on territorial control, supported by modular map building, resource management, building upgrades, Action Cards, and Harvest Groups. Each player begins with a rabbit pawn, 100 Carrots in Carrot Tokens, and 25 Building Tokens, then develops their tribe over 20 rounds—or 10 rounds in a short game.
- Explore: Place uniquely shaped Map Tiles to create the island and form Pathway Arrows. Players can also establish their first Camps on Territory Tiles.
- Build: Follow the Pathway Arrows around the island, harvest carrots from established territories, and upgrade buildings from Camp to Village and then Town.
- Conquer: Score Victory Points for building levels and compete for additional rewards.
Upgrading an opponent’s Territory can wrest control from its current owner, making every building decision potentially important. Building levels provide Victory Points to the player who establishes them, while larger developments increase the stakes of your struggle for the island.
Adjacent territories owned by the same player form Harvest Groups, which generate larger harvests. The Action Card deck can also introduce disruptions such as Earthquakes and Poor Harvests, forcing players to adapt their plans.
At the end of the Conquer Phase, players count their Victory Points. Extra points go to the player with the most Carrot Tokens and to the player with the largest Harvest Group. In Rabbit Island, expanding your territory is only part of the challenge; you must also manage resources and time your advances against rival tribes.
