About this expansion

Sprawlopolis: Beaches is a 1–4 player city-building game with a 20-minute play time, released in 2019. In this coastal variation, you build a little beach town into a sprawling maritime city while working within newly defined boundaries.

The coast is shaped by four Beach cards. Whenever you draw a Beach card, you must play it immediately. Each Beach creates a new border that you cannot cross with other cards, representing the beach continuing beyond the edge of the card.

During the game, you must define three of the four possible borders: north, south, east, and west. Once those boundaries are established, continue building your city within them. The result is a city-planning challenge shaped by the limits of its coastline.

  • Play with 1–4 players.
  • Build a sprawling maritime city from a four-card coast.
  • Play Beach cards immediately when drawn.
  • Define three of the four borders: north, south, east, or west.
  • Use the Beach scoring card, which may provide extra points to offset the new challenges.

Every Beach card changes the space available for your growing city, making the borders an important part of the build. You must continue placing cards within the edges you have defined, turning the coastline into a central feature of the game.

With its immediate Beach-card rule, restricted building area, and optional scoring support, Sprawlopolis: Beaches offers a focused way to create a seaside settlement. Build inside the boundaries and see how your small beach town develops into a maritime city.
