Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition) – Queen Ariad Lieutenant Pack is a Descent expansion for 2–5 players, released in 2014, that brings Queen Ariad into campaigns beyond Labyrinth of Ruin.

Queen Ariad normally serves as the evil Overlord for the Labyrinth of Ruin campaign. This lieutenant pack allows her to appear in other campaigns where she would not normally be present, even if you do not own the Labyrinth of Ruin expansion.

At the heart of the pack is Queen Ariad’s Tangled Web Plot deck. Its cards help the Overlord deceive the heroes, ensnare them, and prepare them for a sudden, inescapable demise. The deck is particularly effective when combined with the Overlord’s Trap cards, creating opportunities to turn the heroes’ uncertainty against them.

The Tangled Web deck also boosts your Wilderness monsters. The Hidden Predator card grants your monsters a powerful bonus whenever they attack from out of sight of the heroes, rewarding attacks that emerge from concealment.

With monsters darting in and out of sight, the heroes can never be certain where the next assault will come from.
