Qwixx: Connected

About this expansion

Qwixx: Connected is a scorepad-based game for 2–5 players, with plays lasting around 15 minutes. It adds two new ways to play the familiar Qwixx format, each using a different scorepad design.

With The Steps, each player takes a different scoresheet from A–E. A meandering row of black-bordered spaces crosses the four colored rows on each sheet, creating an additional path to mark while the game is played normally.

The colored rows still score according to the number of Xs they contain. The black row adds another scoring opportunity, awarding points for 0–11 Xs depending on how many of its spaces you mark.

The Chain also uses five different scoresheets, labeled A–E. On these sheets, certain numbers in adjacent spaces are circled and connected by a line. The connections can link spaces across different colored rows, such as the red 9 and yellow 9 or the yellow 3 and green 11.

Whenever you X out one circle in a chain, you automatically cross out the other circle as well. This happens even if the corresponding color has already been marked to the right of that circle or has been finished, giving you second chances to fill spaces that might otherwise remain empty.

• The Steps: mark a black-bordered path that crosses the colored rows and score it separately.
• The Chain: linked circles cause one another to be crossed out automatically.

Qwixx: Connected offers two compact variations that change the relationship between the colored rows and the spaces around them. Choose the scorepad design that adds the twist you want to your next game.
