The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – The Mountain of Fire is a 2017 Saga Expansion for 1–2 players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. As the sixth and final expansion in the series, it brings the struggle against Mordor to its world-shattering conclusion.

Across three epic scenarios, players adventure alongside Aragorn and Frodo Baggins. Their journey leads from the march to the Black Gate, through the carrying of the One Ring into the heart of Mordor, and onward to the final steps before the fires of Mount Doom.

Inspired directly by The Return of the King, these scenarios present stakes where hope and despair stand side by side. The new dire keyword raises the threat elimination level to 99, reflecting the apocalyptic pressure surrounding the final battle.

Mountain of Fire also introduces Epic Multiplayer Mode. This special rule allows the final two scenarios to be played simultaneously, either as a standalone experience or as the climactic finale to a Lord of the Rings Saga Campaign.
