Qwixx: Bonus

About this expansion

Qwixx: Bonus is a 15-minute scorepad-based game for 2–5 players, released in 2020, featuring two new twists on the normal way of playing Qwixx.

One scorepad introduces twelve boxed spaces: three in each colored row. A second row of twelve colored boxes appears below the main colored rows. Whenever you cross off a boxed space, you also cross off the next colored box in that lower row.

You then cross off the leftmost space of that color that you can legally mark. This can trigger a chain reaction, creating additional marks as each crossed-off boxed space activates another colored box. The chain may even help you complete a second row, which ends the game.

The other scorepad adds bonus boxes directly among the colored rows. Ten spaces are marked in total, with two boxes for each of five different bonuses. When you mark the second box belonging to a particular bonus, you receive its special reward.

• Cross off the next two spaces of the row with the fewest marks.
• Cross off the next space of each active color.
• Double the score of your least valuable row at the end of the game.

These new scorepads give Qwixx: Bonus fresh scoring possibilities while preserving the focus on crossing off spaces in the colored rows. Choose the scorepad that suits the twist you want and watch carefully as boxed spaces, legal marks, and bonus rewards shape the result.
