About this expansion

Tannhäuser: Daedalus is a 2011 expansion map for Tannhäuser, designed for 2–10 players with a play time of 60 minutes. It sends a commando squad into the Labyrinth of Minos, a dark complex hidden beneath the ruins of Crete’s Palace of Knossos.

According to legend, the labyrinth concealed fantastic secrets and great treasure. In Daedalus, however, the tunnels are also filled with enemy soldiers, forcing your squad to fight its way through the winding underground complex or die trying.

This second expansion map introduces several new concepts to Tannhäuser’s map system. Movement and access are shaped by one-way spaces and restricted spaces, while four entry points provide multiple ways to enter the labyrinth.

  • A maze-like map set in the Labyrinth of Minos
  • One-way spaces and restricted spaces
  • Four entry points
  • A horizontal tram system that moves a single character to the opposite side of the map
  • Six scenarios and 64 tokens

The horizontal tram adds a distinctive way to cross the map, speeding one character across to the opposite side. Alongside the maze’s unusual spaces and multiple entrances, it gives Daedalus a setting defined by navigation as well as combat.

With six scenarios and 64 tokens featuring many of the Token of the Month entries, Tannhäuser: Daedalus expands the game with a mysterious subterranean environment, new map features, and a dangerous mission beneath Knossos.
