About this expansion

Snowdonia: Trans-Australian Railway & The Daffodil Line is an advanced 1–4 player scenario expansion with an approximate play time of 90 minutes, focused on completing Australia’s iconic transcontinental railway.

Players build along the route completed in 1937, working from Sydney in the east to Perth in the west. The line includes the world’s longest dead-straight stretch of track, measuring 478 kilometres, and requires changes of rail gauge along the journey.

Australia’s harsh desert climate introduces water as a new and scarce resource. Alongside managing this valuable supply, players must cope with changing weather and the possibility of both drought and flash flooding.

  • For 1–4 players
  • Approximately 90 minutes of play
  • An advanced scenario with more varied weather
  • A route from Sydney to Perth based on the 1937 railway
  • Water as a valuable resource in the Australian desert

The Trans-Australian Railway scenario adds greater variety and a distinctive environmental challenge to Snowdonia. Its 33-card deck also leaves room for a reprint of Snowdonia: The Daffodil Line, including the cards and material specifically required for that scenario, but not its miscellaneous extra cards.

With its vast east-to-west route, gauge changes, scarce water, and unpredictable conditions, Snowdonia: Trans-Australian Railway & The Daffodil Line presents a demanding railway-building setting shaped by the scale and climate of Australia.
