About this expansion

March of the Ants: Empires of the Earth is an expansion for 1–5 players that returns to the meadow for a 90-minute colony-building experience. Released in 2020, it adds new ways to shape your underground empire and develop an individual strategy.

At the beginning of the game, players draft Mutations that give their colonies asymmetric abilities. These mutations help define each colony from the start, letting players craft their strategies before the first turn and pushing the game into action immediately.

The expansion also introduces Nest Chambers, a new card type for building your underground home. Use your nest inhabitants to unlock powerful recurring abilities as your colony grows and your plans take shape.

Empires of the Earth expands the range of possibilities with 18 new Evolutions, Events, and Colony Goals. These additions support varied approaches, from maintaining a delicate peace with the Peacekeeper head to spreading spores through the Cult of the Gray Queen.

This mini-expansion includes 40 cards created to celebrate the world of March of the Ants, with art from Vincent Dutrait, Mr. Cuddington, the Mico, and more. With new powers, objectives, and colony-building options, March of the Ants: Empires of the Earth offers a richer and more diverse return to the meadow.
