Captain Sonar: Operation Dragon is a 2019 expansion for 2–8 players with an approximately 60-minute play time. It adds a seven-mission campaign and a versatile toolbox for customizing the Captain Sonar experience.

In the Operation Dragon campaign, crews search for rare minerals at never-before-seen depths. As the teams progress, the laws of physics reach their limits and each mission takes place on a new nautical chart.

The campaign is designed as a connected adventure rather than a series of unrelated games. Teams play seven consecutive missions, and the result of each game affects what follows. Expert characters also join the adventure, bringing abilities exclusive to them as crews work to make it through the campaign.

For players who want to vary their sessions, the Custom Pack provides four new modules. These options introduce additional ways to shape the game, including new station concepts and a dedicated Armada mode.
