About this expansion

Newton: Sun Set Promo is a 2022 add-on for 1–4 players, with an approximately 90-minute play time. It introduces six new action cards focused on the Voyage action, plus one rule card, for use with Newton and Great Discoveries.

The New Edition of Newton and Great Discoveries includes many promotional items, but not the Sun Set cards. Each player receives one of these cards during setup through a draft, adding a destination-based objective to their starting hand.

Every Sun Set card is a travel action linked to a specific University – City – Ancient Land on the map. The card can always be played normally to perform its main Travel action. However, its additional power is available only if you have already placed a Travel cube on the indicated location.

• Shuffle the Sun Set cards and reveal a number equal to the player count plus one.
• Draft one card per player in reverse turn order.
• Return the remaining revealed card to the box.
• Use the cards as starting action cards during play and for objectives.

This creates a clear mid-term goal: reach the location shown on your chosen card before relying on its bonus effect. If the required Travel cube is not there, you still perform the card’s main action, but receive no additional bonus.

With its combination of familiar travel actions, destination planning, and conditional rewards, Newton: Sun Set Promo gives players a focused way to pursue specific locations while expanding the game’s starting-card options.
