Captain Sonar: New York Map

About this expansion

Captain Sonar: New York Map is a 2016 promo set for 2–8 players with a listed play time of 60 minutes. It presents four two-sided maps depicting the rivers between Manhattan, Long Island, and Staten Island.

This set was given out at the Asmodee booth at Gen Con. It expands the map selection associated with Captain Sonar through locations centered on the waterways around New York City.

The maps are divided between two Captain Functions and two Radio Operator Functions. A complete set includes maps in two color groupings: one set is yellow, and another is green.

• Four two-sided maps
• Two Captain Functions
• Two Radio Operator Functions
• Yellow and green sets
• Map sides divided into either four or nine quadrants

Each map offers two different layouts. One side is divided into four quadrants, while the other is divided into nine quadrants, giving the set clearly defined map formats to use.

With its specific New York setting and two available quadrant divisions, Captain Sonar: New York Map is a compact addition for players interested in the rivers between Manhattan, Long Island, and Staten Island. Its role-based map design identifies the Captain and Radio Operator Functions included in the set without adding components beyond the four two-sided maps.
