Thunderstone Quest: Rotten Roots

About this expansion

Thunderstone Quest: Rotten Roots is a deck-building adventure for 1–6 players, with a play time of 150 minutes. Released in 2023, this new Quest takes your party into the Deepwood, where a spreading blight has placed the entire forest in jeopardy.

At the center of the danger is Filleath, a new guardian who has always believed he was destined for more. Yet he has continually lived in the shadow of greater creatures, especially Ashbrow, the great tree guardian of the Deepwood.

That balance is about to change. Filleath has formed a new pact with a being from the Abyssal lands, giving him dark powers and bringing an end to the old order. With these forces at his command, he will spread a corruption that threatens the forest and everyone within it.

As a new quest for Thunderstone Quest, Rotten Roots brings a fresh adventure for parties ready to face a powerful guardian and a growing threat. The deck-building format provides the foundation for the journey, while the story sets the party against a conflict rooted in ambition, shadow, and the peril facing the Deepwood.
