About this expansion
Fleet: House Boat is a card-based addition for 1–6 players, with a play time of about 30 minutes. Released in 2014, it was part of the Fleet: Arctic Bounty Kickstarter campaign and is available through other outlets.
House Boat cards introduce a flexible choice during the game. During setup, place two House Boat cards per player face up on the table near the Boat Card supply. With eight cards in the quantity listed for this release, these cards can become a valuable source of either immediate funds or end-game points.
During the Launch Phase, a House Boat can be purchased for 3 coins. At any time afterward, you may discard it for 5 coins, creating a powerful cash spike when you need additional spending power. This gives the card a clear tactical role without requiring a complicated sequence of actions.
- Setup: Place two House Boat cards per player face up near the Boat Card supply.
- Purchase cost: 3 coins during the Launch Phase.
- Discard value: Gain 5 coins whenever you discard the card.
- End-game value: An unused House Boat is worth 2 victory points.
Choosing when to convert the card into coins is the central consideration. A timely discard can provide a strong financial boost, while holding the card offers a smaller but reliable victory-point reward if it remains unused until game end.
Fleet: House Boat is a compact promotional release with a straightforward effect and meaningful flexibility. Whether you seek a late-game score or an extra burst of currency, the House Boat card adds another useful option to your Fleet experience.
