The Walking Dead Board Game: The Best Defense – Woodbury Expansion is an expansion for 1–5 players with a 45-minute play time, adding a dangerous new location, a powerful enemy, and fresh ways to win.

Place the Woodbury Location next to two of the four starting Location tiles during setup. Survivors can enter Woodbury and draw from its special Resource Deck, where valuable opportunities come with devastating risks. Cards such as Seduced, Assault Rifle, Enter the Arena, and Bargaining Chip can dramatically affect the struggle for survival.

Woodbury is a well-maintained, protected enclave with fewer Walkers to face, but its resources are limited. The Woodbury deck begins with five cards per Survivor, plus a base five cards, creating an objective that scales with the number of players. If the Survivors draw all the Woodbury cards—or deplete the deck by other means—the team wins through the expansion’s alternate victory condition.

• The Governor: An automated game piece that moves to a new Location each round and carries a heavy Assault Rifle.
• Risk management: The Governor can cause panic, but careful planning may even turn him against pockets of Walkers.
• Versus Mode: One player controls The Governor and chooses his movements while the other players work together as Survivors.

In Versus Mode, the Governor player works against the entire Survivor team and wins if they fail. Survivors must coordinate their choices, judge the dangers of Woodbury, and avoid getting caught in the crossfire when The Governor’s bullets start flying.
