About this board game

890 Anno Domini is a tile-placement game for 2–4 players that plays in approximately 45 minutes. Set among the sun-drenched lavender fields of Provence, it challenges nobles to develop their dominions and withstand the ever-looming threat of the Saracens.

Each player begins with a castle and a personal territory. Over just 8 rounds, place tiles to create rows of crops, construct buildings, and strengthen your defenses against Moorish raids. Your dominion can include a variety of structures and cultivated fields, but careful planning is essential: once its grid is full, it can no longer be modified.

• Build fortifications, religious edifices, and inns.
• Cultivate lavender, poppies, olive trees, and wheat.
• Recruit specialists, fellow nobles, and influential figures.
• Use character abilities to gain unique powers and advantages.

Crop colors help determine which characters you can recruit, giving your tile choices an important role beyond simply filling space. Summoning the right figures can support your plans and provide opportunities to play with skill and cunning, including stealing coins from rivals or trading cards that fit your strategy.

Interaction in 890 Anno Domini happens entirely on the board.
