About this expansion

A la carte: Die Beilage is a 2010 expansion for 3–4 players, designed for games lasting around 30 minutes.

Published as a Spielbox (4/2010) expansion, it adds two mini modules to the main game: Kochfix and Gamer’s Best. Each module introduces a distinct way to change the cooking experience while remaining easy to add to a game.

Kochfix is intended for fast chefs. It adds additional coffee cups to the game, but these cups do not enter play immediately. Instead, they are added after the first “normal” coffee cup has been drawn.

Once a Kochfix cup has been drawn, the pace of the game gains an extra reward. The player who finishes the next dish receives a bonus token, creating a clear incentive to complete a dish quickly after the special cup appears.

Gamer’s Best is a new dish that can be selected alongside the dishes from the main game. Its defining feature is that it is impossible for this dish to become too salty or over-seasoned.

  • Kochfix adds coffee cups for fast chefs.
  • The additional cups enter after the first normal coffee cup is drawn.
  • The next player to finish a dish after a Kochfix cup is drawn earns a bonus token.
  • Gamer’s Best cannot be too salty or over-seasoned.
  • The player who completes Gamer’s Best cannot earn a cooking star.

With its speed-focused coffee cups and unusually forgiving dish, A la carte: Die Beilage offers two compact modules for changing the main game. Players can use Kochfix, Gamer’s Best, or both as they expand their cooking challenges.
