About this expansion

ASL Action Pack #13: ASL Oktoberfest XXXII is a 2017 tactical combat game for two players, featuring eleven Advanced Squad Leader scenarios set across World War II.

Guided by veteran playtesters and tournament directors Bret Hildebran and Bill Hayward, designers Bill Sisler and Pete Shelling present a broad selection of situations. The action ranges from 1939 Poland to 1945 Hungary, with battles in Ukraine, Russia, New Guinea, Burma, Italy, France, and Belgium.

The scenarios offer varied tactical challenges rather than a single repeated format. Some focus on infantry, one is almost entirely armor-based, and most use combined arms. Assault engineers appear with their equipment, while offboard artillery brings the King of Battle into several scenarios. There are no night actions.

• Eleven scenarios spanning locations including Vistula, Balta, Luga, Bougainville, Myitkyina, Elba, Caen, Falaise, and Bastogne.
• Forces include Russians, Germans, Americans, Poles from 1939 and 1944, British, Japanese, Chinese, Free French, and varied SS squad types.
• Two new boards designed by Charlie Kibler, both integral to most of the scenarios.

Board 78 is a true wilderness map without buildings, featuring a brush-covered ridge running along its length. Board 79 introduces a river three to five hexes wide, with a village extending along both banks, adding further flexibility to the system.

With its wide range of nations, terrain, tactical situations, and combined-arms encounters, ASL Action Pack #13 offers a substantial set of scenarios for players looking to test and extend their tactical knowledge and skills.
