About this expansion

Primosole Bridge: ASL Journal 6 Historical Module is a two-player historical module for Advanced Squad Leader, released in 2005. It recreates the fierce struggle for a key bridge on the Sicilian coast near Mt. Etna during the drive along the coast.

The British require the bridge intact and drop airborne elements to seize it and hold the position until their ground forces arrive. The Germans also recognize the bridge’s importance, landing Fallschirmjaegers nearby to hold it and reinforce Axis units in the area.

With crack troops on both sides, the battle quickly becomes a desperate contest. The British nearly collapse before their ground troops finally arrive to provide rescue, creating a historical setting centered on opposing airborne forces, reinforcements, and control of a vital objective.

The module includes substantial campaign-specific material and multiple ways to experience the battle:

  • A full-color 20.5″ × 30″ map
  • 20 pages of campaign-specific rules, numbered Z39–Z58
  • Three campaign games
  • Three scenarios: J95, J96, and J97

Primosole Bridge offers a focused historical addition to Advanced Squad Leader, combining a dedicated map, specialized rules, campaign games, and individual scenarios around one pivotal Sicilian engagement. It is designed for two players seeking an ASL module built around the struggle to capture and retain the bridge.
