ASL: Journal – Issue Eleven is a 60-page Advanced Squad Leader magazine for 1–2 players, released in 2016. It requires ownership of the Advanced Squad Leader Game System and is not a complete game.

This issue combines detailed articles, the latest Q&A and errata, and a substantial collection of scenarios printed on cardstock. Its editorial content covers campaign games, deployment, historical ASL development, tournament play, intensive fire, and scenario design and playtesting.

• 25 ASL scenarios, including a Deluxe scenario, an Operation Veritable scenario, a Festung Budapest scenario, and two Valor of the Guards scenarios
• Three Squad Bleeder scenarios with their associated purchase charts
• Articles on Valor of the Guards, the Korean War ASL module, Slaughter at Ponyri, Gavutu-Tanambogo, and Rivers to the Reich
• Errata updates and scenario updates for the new edition of YANKS

The scenarios span engagements from 1940 through 1945 and feature a broad range of opposing forces, including German, British, American, Russian, Japanese, Finnish, Italian, Greek, Romanian, Hungarian, Canadian, French, South African, partisan, and mutineer units. Several scenarios also support three players, including a three-player version of “Aiding The Local Constabulary.”

Play requires a wide selection of ASL boards and overlays, including standard, historical, Deluxe, Red October, Festung Budapest, and Valor of the Guards boards. The Squad Bleeder scenarios additionally use boards 3, 6, 16–18, 20, and 45.

With its combination of historical commentary, rules support, development insights, and new scenarios, ASL: Journal – Issue Eleven is a substantial magazine addition for players already invested in the Advanced Squad Leader system.
