About this expansion

Arkham Horror: The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh Expansion (Revised Edition) is an expansion for 1–8 players with an approximately 240-minute play time, released in 2011. It brings ancient mysteries, missing artifacts, and a terrible new threat to games of Arkham Horror.

This revised edition updates the original 2006 expansion and centers on the museum’s current Legacy of the Pharaohs exhibit. Several artifacts have gone missing, giving players the opportunity to investigate the exhibit and uncover its secrets through new cards.

The Dark Pharaoh will not surrender his treasures easily. The expansion introduces the Dark Pharaoh Herald sheet, representing the Avatar of Nyarlathotep and spreading the Pharaoh’s curse throughout the game.

New content adds variety and extra layers to the Arkham Horror experience, including:

  • Exhibit Item cards featuring artifacts from the museum exhibit
  • Exhibit Encounter cards for discovering what has happened to the missing treasures
  • Patrolled Neighborhoods that create additional challenges
  • Benefits and Detriments that add further effects to play
  • Ancient Whispers for more mysteries and atmosphere

With its combination of new exhibit-focused cards and added game elements, The Curse of the Dark Pharaoh (Revised Edition) expands the dangers and discoveries awaiting players. The Dark Pharaoh’s presence ensures that the search for ancient artifacts is accompanied by an ongoing supernatural threat.
