About this board game

Asgard’s Chosen is a board game for 1–4 players that takes about 90 minutes, set at the end of the Bronze Age as Teutonic lords race to secure their lands and preserve their family lines.

Iron has only recently been extracted from ore in the peat bogs, and this discovery must be used before rival lords turn it against you. Build armies, expand across the land, and use divine favors to pursue the requests of the gods. The gods can help control creatures and advance your goals, but their support comes with demands.

Players create the game board by joining landscape tiles together. These tiles depict Mountains, Forest, Hills, Scrub, Bog, and Lakes, with each tile containing two terrain types and an enchanted land. City tiles fill some open square spaces that are not occupied by enchanted lands.

  • Build a deck from God, Creature, Town Item, Enchanted Item, and Event cards.
  • Use cards to take over land and battle other players.
  • Appease gods by accepting dramatic losses to your position or changing the composition of your deck.
  • Compete to appease the most gods before the game ends.

In Asgard’s Chosen, every god offers aid while demanding that you fulfill a particular desire. Choosing when to use divine favor—and when to make the sacrifices required to appease a god—is central to your struggle for power.

When a player has appeased the required number of gods, the game ends, and the player who has appeased the most gods wins. The game also includes a solitaire version and a two-player cooperative version, offering different ways to experience its mythic contest for land and legacy.
