About this board game

Attika is a board game for 2–4 players that takes about 60 minutes, placing you in ancient Greece as rival city-states compete to dominate the peninsula.

Each player oversees the growth of their own city-state, seeking the best land while blocking opponents from valuable building spots. The landscape must accommodate a wide range of developments, from temples and theaters to harbors, ships, vineyards, vintners, and oracles.

Construction is expensive, so careful planning is essential. Players can use the peninsula’s natural resources to reduce costs and look for a building order that allows developments to be constructed for free. Moving quickly can secure important territory before another city-state claims it.

  • Compete as Athens, Sparta, Corinth, or Thebes in an ancient Greek struggle for influence.
  • Expand a city with buildings such as temples, theaters, oracles, harbors, ships, vineyards, and vintners.
  • Use natural resources and clever building sequences to save money.
  • Block rival city-states from the most desirable building locations.

Victory in Attika comes in one of two ways: be the first player to connect two shrines, or be the first to construct all 30 of your buildings. These objectives create a race in which territorial positioning, timing, and efficient construction all matter.

Released in 2003, Attika offers a competitive ancient-Greece setting and can also be played online through Yucata in turn-based format.
