High Bohn: Bohnenduell um 12 Uhr mittags is a 2001 expansion set for 2–5 players, with a playing time of about 60 minutes. It combines two expansions and a new bean type for the Bohnanza family of games.

The High Bohn expansion adds 36 cards to Bohnanza, while Prohibohn adds 24 cards to Al Cabohne and is designed for two players. In both expansions, players can purchase matching structures with Bohnentaler.

These structures count toward a player’s final score, and the more valuable ones provide ways to bend specific game rules. This creates new possibilities around hand management, fields, and the timing of your plays.

• The 4-Taler Bank in High Bohn lets its owner relocate one card in hand at the beginning of their turn.
• The 3-Taler Nightbar in Prohibohn allows its owner to alternate the bean type in each field.
• The buildings and establishments offer rule-bending effects while also contributing to the final score.

High Bohn is an updated release of the original Lookout Games edition, with changes to the distribution of its buildings. Prohibohn expands Al Cabohne, which normally also permits solo play, but this expansion itself is only for two players.

Both parts can also be played with the 22 Cognacbohnen. In the Cognacbohne variant of High Bohn, a Distillery joins the available buildings; in Prohibohn, a Pub is added to the available establishments. With its two linked expansions and optional new bean type, High Bohn broadens both Bohnanza and Al Cabohne with score-bearing structures and special abilities.
