About this board game
Brewin’ USA is a thematic Eurogame for 2–5 players that takes about 60 minutes, placing you at the start of the craft beer revolution. Each player runs a start-up brewery, collecting ingredients, launching a product line of “liquid gold” craft beer, and competing for control across the nation.
Every turn unfolds through three phases: Ingredient Auction, Launching Beers, and resolving any Brewfests. During the auction, players use a turn-based bidding system to compete for the ingredient cards required by their beer recipes. Bids also become craft beer “market demand,” which players may distribute at their discretion, creating meaningful choices throughout the game.
Each beer card features an ingredient recipe and one of six beer styles. These styles are better suited to certain cities, making the beers you launch important both for brewing and for expanding your influence. When you brew a beer, you can claim an open city or challenge the player controlling a city to a Brewfest, with the winner taking control.
- Collect ingredients through competitive auctions.
- Launch beers with recipes and styles tailored to different cities.
- Use Brewfests to contest controlled locations and grow regional influence.
- Manage Beer Coaster tiles and 105 bottle caps used as money and victory points.
The game ends when the first player brews three beers. Players then total points from beer quality, reputation on cities, and any regions they control, with regional control going to the player who controls the most cities in that region. Brewin’ USA combines approachable beer-themed play with strategic decisions and direct player interaction, especially as Brewfests become more prominent while breweries expand their product lines.
