About this expansion

Catan Scenarios: Easter Bunny is a scenario add-on for 2–6 players, with a playing time of 120 minutes. Released in 2015, it adds a festive character and a new strategic use for wool to the world of Catan.

Whenever you give Santa Claus wool on your turn, you may move him to a hex on the island of Catan. In this version of the scenario, Santa is replaced by the Easter Bunny; the rules remain unchanged. Once the character arrives, gifts are given to the settlers, while the visitor may also chase away the robber and/or protect a hex.

This scenario gives wool a more significant role. In the basic game, wool is considered the least attractive commodity, but here it can help bring a powerful special effect to the island. Deciding when to spend wool and where to move the character adds another strategic consideration to your turns.

  • Uses wool to move the special character to a hex.
  • Delivers gifts to the settlers.
  • May chase away the robber and/or protect a hex.
  • Works as an add-on for up to 6 players and with expansions that include the robber.

Catan Scenarios: Easter Bunny was contained in the Brettspiel Adventskalender 2015 for Day 1. Other versions of the same scenario feature characters such as Santa Claus, Fenni the Sheep, or the 999 Games’ Joker, without changing any of the rules. Add this compact variant when you want wool to matter more and familiar Catan decisions to gain a festive twist.
