About this expansion

Citrus: New Landscape Tiles is a 2015 mini-expansion for Citrus, designed for games with 2–5 players. It adds nine Landscape tiles across three new types, giving players fresh ways to manage Plantation tiles, claim regions, and earn points.

Each new type appears in a set of three tiles. The expansion is language-independent and can be added to Citrus without changing its core identity.

  • Plow: Take over a neutral region that is one or two Plantation tiles in size. Place one of your Workers onto the region to show that it belongs to you.
  • Storehouse: Store one Plantation tile just bought from the market so you can build it on a later turn. You may build a stored Plantation only when choosing the “Build” action and building at least one other Plantation from the market.
  • Large Well: When you build a Plantation tile adjacent to the Large Well, immediately score the region and add two points. Return your Worker to your tableau, immediately earn income for it, and remove the Large Well from the game.

Storehouses offer additional flexibility during a Build action. With more than one Storehouse, you can store more than one Plantation, with one tile per Storehouse; in the same turn, you may first build a Plantation from a Storehouse and then store a new tile from the market.

With its compact set of special tiles, Citrus: New Landscape Tiles introduces new tactical possibilities while remaining easy to understand. Plows reward opportunities in neutral regions, Storehouses help manage market purchases, and Large Wells create a valuable moment for timely construction and scoring.
